My Story
I took up running when my kids were young as a way of keeping fit. Before kids I raced mountain bikes, but this was not feasible with young children. I lived in the bush, so would run mainly on the trails. I trained to run my first marathon, but like many beginners, did too much too soon and was injured and out of the race. Luckily, I learnt a lot from that!
Fast forward a few years, and I was training for a sub-3 hour marathon. As a 'B' race, I ran the 6 Foot Track Marathon...and won! |
This qualified me to represent Australia at the World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships. I represented Australia three times, of which I am very proud! I have also run 24 hours on the track, clocking up 198.74kms!
I now mainly run trail100k and 100 mile races, with the Barkley Marathons as my next A-Race. I am a qualified Personal Trainer and a certified running coach. |
