Race ready self-managed program
My plans. My method. You make the calls.
For ultra runners who know how to train and want a properly built plan, plus the thinking behind it, without paying for support they won't use.
Who this is for
Not everyone needs a coach in their messages every week.
Some of you have a few marathons or ultras behind you. You can read a plan, you can tell the difference between tired and broken, and you don't need someone to tell you it's fine to move Tuesday's session to Wednesday. You want the ultimate control over your schedule and enjoy the day-to-day analysing data, but don’t want to start from scratch. What you want is a plan built by someone who has actually raced this stuff, done the deep research, and given you enough understanding of the method to run it yourself.
That's PEC RaceReady.
You get the same planning theory and the same philosophy my 1:1 athletes train on. What you don't get is me adjusting it for you or checking in on you. You're the coach now.
What You Get
✔ A Peak Endurance training plan, loaded into VDOT. Built around your goal race, with paces set from your current fitness.
✔ A 30-minute onboarding call with me. We look at the plan, make sure it is adjusted to you, and go through how to read it and how to use it.
✔ The PEC Bible on running the plan yourself. How to move sessions when work and family get in the way. What to do when you're sick, travelling or flat. Why the plan is built the way it is, so you can make good decisions when it doesn't fit your week.
✔ The private athlete group. Train alongside people who take this seriously. Monthly webinars to teach you all about racing, training, recovery, nutrition and more.
✔ The Ultra Mindset Lab.
Monthly mindset webinars. This is the part most runners skip and most DNFs come from.
What You DON'T Get
- No plan changes or adjustments
- No messaging or check-ins with me
- No weekly feedback on your training
- No monthly coaching calls
If you read that list and felt a bit nervous, you probably want 1:1 coaching.
That's not a criticism. It's the honest answer.
The Honest Bit
A good plan doesn't fix bad decisions.
Most runners who come to me for coaching after a DNF or an injury had a perfectly good plan. They ignored the easy days, chased mileage, skipped recovery, or kept pushing when every sign said back off. Then race day exposed it.
PEC RaceReady gives you the plan and teaches you the judgment. The judgment part is on you.

FAQs
What distances do the plans cover?
Marathon, 50k, 100k, 100 miles, 200 miles
Do I need the VDOT app?
You will be sent an invitation to the VDOT app and your plan will be loaded in.
What if I get injured?
See a physio. Plan changes aren't included, but you can book a one-off consult with me [link to ultra strategy call] with a 25% discount (email Isobel for code) or move to 1:1.
Can I switch to 1:1 later?
Yes. Your onboarding is already done, so you just pick up from where you are. If you move to 1:1, there’s no second setup fee. You’ve already paid for it.
Why the 12-week minimum?
Because four weeks of a plan tells you nothing. Adaptation takes time and so does learning to run a plan well.
I'm new to ultras. Is this for me?
Probably not. If you haven't raced an ultra yet, the decisions you'll need to make are exactly the ones a coach helps with. Book a coaching consultation and we'll work out what fits.
If you know how to train and want a plan worth following, start here.

About the coach
I’m Isobel Tait, head coach at Peak Endurance Coaching.
I’ve coached ultrarunners through:
- Missed cut-offs
- DNFs
- Comebacks
- Breakthrough performances
- Big mountain races
- Long, ugly races where nothing goes right
And I’ve lived it myself, including some of the hardest races in the sport, Barkley marathons being one of them.
Everything taught in Ultra Mindset Lab comes from real coaching, real racing, and real experience, not just theory pulled from a book. However, theory is also important. I'm also a certified Mindset Coach, as well as certified Life Coach. I will help you achieve your race goals through improved mindset.
